Testimonials Are the BEST Compliment Your Clients Can Give You!

My hypnosis sessions with Eugenia Karahalias were for weight loss and weight management. I am beyond satisfied with my results. After completing 5 sessions I have lost 25 lbs. The hypnosis has conditioned me to eat slowly, savor my food and make me aware of when to walk away from food. I have no cravings for sweets, I no longer eat snacks and I am fully satisfied from my 3 meals a day. I now know when to stop. I no longer live to eat, I eat to live.

I continue to use my recorded sessions at home for continued conditioning and relaxation. My goal is to lose between 50 and 60 lbs and I now know that I will be able to achieve this.

I cannot thank her enough for putting me on the right track to achieve better eating habits and better health. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to lose weight comfortably and successfully without dieting and feel better about himself.

Thanks for everything. I am there for you anytime. What you have done has been inspiring. ~ Corey M.

And I thank you Corey for your determination, motivation, committment and trust in me and the process.

Network, Network, Network!

I would like to share this  with you from Lynn Pierce's  Change One Thing Ezine publication.

"Empowering You to Awaken Your Passion and Live the Life of Your Dreams".

Lynn Pierce discusses 3 Fears that can stand in the way of your success.

Lynn Pierce says...
"Give your expertise freely and new clients will beat a path to your door."

What are you afraid of giving away?

Lynn Pierce's Featured Article:

Are These 3 Fears Killing Your Business?

There are 3 dominant fears that keep showing up over and over in slow growing or stagnant businesses. You'll notice all 3 of these fears focus on outside influences. The good news is that all 3 are easily turned around by a small shift in your perception about how you deliver quality solutions to your clients.

Fear #1: Fear of Giving Too Much Away

"If I give my expertise away, no one will buy my product".  This fear is prevalent. I hear this over and over from clients in diverse industries. Since giving and receiving are opposite sides of the same coin, if you embrace the laws of prosperity it's impossible to hold this belief and be prosperous.

Of course you should be paid for your expertise and if you deliver high quality, you should be paid top dollar. But that doesn't mean you don't also give information away as a service to your clients and also as an introduction to potential clients.

Be confident enough in your ability to over-deliver to know you can afford to give your potential clients a sample of what you can do for them, and they'll be so impressed they'll want to do business with you.

From personal experience I can tell you that one giveaway I did several years nearly tripled my small and growing ezine list in just 3 weeks. Joint venture genius Mark Hendricks taught me how to do this with his 12 Days of Christmas promotion. That was the boost I needed to reach critical mass and get my message out to more people. And I did it by giving my knowledge away first!  Back then I started giving away the mini-course, "9 Steps to Getting to Yes Without Selling". I built a separate list that equaled the size of my entire ezine list in only one week. And that was the week between Christmas and New Years! That's the power of giving your knowledge away.

Fear #2: Fear of Cross-Promotion

"If I promote someone else's product, they'll steal my clients".  If you are delivering a quality product and customer service, why would your clients leave you? This is one of the most irrational fears business owners have. When you have the confidence to promote other products to your clients, it shows that the relationship you are building means enough to you that you want them to have access to every possible tool that would make their life easier or their business more successful.

When your clients see that it's not all about you, you'll see your referrals increase and your client retention rate go up, not down. You are acting as their trusted advisor and exposing them to opportunities they may not hear about anywhere else.  Think back in your own experience. How many times have you been grateful for someone forwarding an email or calling to tell you about something that ended up being a huge benefit to you?  I witnessed a great demonstration of introducing complementary services in the Internet marketing industry many of the big Internet gurus. For the last several years I have been watching these guys bringing Internet experts to their clients, sometimes several each month. Now that's service! And guess what? All of their businesses keep on growing!  I know the effort I put out to bring my clients all the tools they need to make their Internet businesses successful has only enhanced my relationship with my clients. I have modeled much of the way I offer my teleseminars and promote other people's products on what I learned from watching the best.  And I only promote products and services I believe will be helpful to my clients.

Fear #3: Fear of Competition

"Too many people cover the same information I do. I need to discredit them before my clients buy their products".  It's OK to point out your strengths and even to state that you have a different philosophy on accomplishing goals than your competitors. That's part of what makes you unique. But don't do it by poking holes in other businesses, and certainly, don't attack them personally.

I would suggest that you look instead at how what you do may add another layer of knowledge to what others in your field offer. It's highly likely that there are ways you can increase your business by entering into a cooperative relationship with your "competition". You'll find ways that you dovetail into each other's areas of expertise in a way that will benefit both of your clients as long as your in alignment.  So don't get caught in this dangerous trap in your business. I knew this wouldn't be a problem with my expert faculty at "Women's Business
Empowerment Summit" the first year I created it because they are true professionals and their desire to see the attendees succeed was their primary concern. It's been the same every year. They all knew the quality
of their products and also the value of what the other speakers were offering and how it could compliment their products and services.  All of these faculty members exemplify the spirit of true professionalism.  None are victims of these 3 fears that kill business growth. They give plenty of their knowledge away in teleseminars, mini-courses and special reports and videos. They are happy to refer products and services of other experts to their clients as well.  In that way, you give the greatest benefit to your clients and at the same time you'll be rewarded with rapid growth in your business. Do you think this attitude of abundance and sharing has something to do with why the people I just told you about are considered top experts in their fields?

Think about it next time you see yourself heading towards one of these fears. If you come from a place of service to your clients, you will be rewarded with a business filled with many more happy clients.

Until next week, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Just comment on this post on my blog at  If you would like personal mentoring, send me an email detailing what you would like help with. Can You Actually Release Extra Weight During the Holiday Season?

YES!  It is possible to reduce weight over the Holidays.  'How?' you say.  Simply release the negative belief that it's inevitable that you are going to gain weight and take inspired action to manage your weight effectively.  A great way to keep your resolve is to incorporate hypnotherapy into your weight management program.  It will assist you with your desire, determination and motivation to keep the weight off.  Hypnosis will jump start your own will power so that you won't succomb to peer pressure from well-intentioned friends and family during the Holidays.  Through hypnotherapy I will bypass your conscious mind where all the negative self-talk and excuses exist and appeal to your sub-conscious mind which is alert and ready to accept and implement positive suggestions.  Is it time for you to make a committment to yourself and accept responsibility for being your body's keeper?  Is it really possible?  Yes, it is...just ask Corey who has released 20 lbs in the last month.  Contact me and I will gladly put you in touch with him to hear his testimonial of SUCCESS.

The Great American Smoke-Out

Are you ready to join the ranks of the Non-smokers?

The Great American Smoke-Out traditionally takes place on the third Thursday in November.  This year Thursday, November 19th is our national smoke-out day.

Smoking affects
your LOOKS,
and your HEALTH!

A day to "Butt Out":  The concept dates from the early '70s when Lynn Smith, publisher of the Monticello Times of Minnesota, announced the first observance and called it "D Day." The idea caught on in state after state until in 1977, it went nationwide under the sponsorship of the American Cancer Society. If past Smokeouts are any indication, as many as one-third of the nation's 46 million smokers could be taking the day off from smoking.

Yes, it is true, only 3 cigarettes a day puts you at risk of dying from cardiovascular disease. CBS News released information stemming from a new report that the reason smoking is so dangerous is because it increases blood pressure, constricts blood vessels and decreases HDL or good cholesterol. The study also found air pollution and secondhand smoke increase your risk of cardiovascular disease by 30-percent.

Reasons to Quit:
When Smokers Quit—Their Health Benefits Over Time

20 minutes after quitting: Your heart rate and blood pressure drops.  (Effect of Smoking on Arterial Stiffness and Pulse Pressure Amplification, Mahmud, A, Feely, J. 2003. Hypertension:41:183.)

12 hours after quitting: The carbon monoxide level in your blood drops to normal.  (US Surgeon General's Report, 1988, p. 202)

2 weeks to 3 months after quitting: Your circulation improves and your lung function increases.  (US Surgeon General's Report, 1990, pp.193, 194,196, 285, 323)

1 to 9 months after quitting: Coughing and shortness of breath decrease; cilia (tiny hair-like structures that move mucus out of the lungs) regain normal function in the lungs, increasing the ability to handle mucus, clean the lungs, and reduce the risk of infection. (US Surgeon General's Report, 1990, pp. 285-287, 304)

1 year after quitting: The excess risk of coronary heart disease is half that of a smoker's.  (US Surgeon General's Report, 1990, p. vi)

5 years after quitting: Your stroke risk is reduced to that of a nonsmoker 5 to 15 years after quitting.  (US Surgeon General's Report, 1990, p. vi)

10 years after quitting: The lung cancer death rate is about half that of a continuing smoker's. The risk of cancer of the mouth, throat, esophagus, bladder, cervix, and pancreas decrease.  (US Surgeon General's Report, 1990, pp. vi, 131, 148, 152, 155, 164,166)

15 years after quitting: The risk of coronary heart disease is that of a non-smoker's.  (US Surgeon General's Report, 1990, p. vi)

Smoking affects your LOOKS, your WALLET & your HEALTH!

We know the hazards of "Second-hand Smoke".  Now experts are educating the masses about "Third-hand Smoke"?  That is the residual toxins from cigarettes that are left on drapes, furniture, carpeting, clothes, inside vehicles, etc.  Remember this the next time you walk into a  hotel room that reeks of smoke from the previous visitor!

Get a head start and eliminate the smoking habit naturally & safely with the assistance of Hypnotherapy and be a Non-Smoker by November 19th.

Study: Hypnosis Works to Treat Hospitalized Smokers - Health News | Current Health News | Medical News -

Last weekend my friend Ron ended up in the hospital for an emergency colonoscopy.  His doctor was very concerned because Ron has a "heart condition" and he had found traces of blood in his stool.  And yet Ron continued to smoke despite the health risks.   After the fact Ron was able to smile and say that this hospitalization was the catalyst that got him to finally quit smoking.  He admits that while in the hospital it was easy not to smoke since it was prohibited and he was feeling so poorly.  Ron was concerned that once he returned home he would return to the habit.  Upon discharge from the hospital, Ron had a smoking cessation hypnosis session with me to reinforce his SUCCESS.

Here is what Ron said following the hypnosis session:
"I feel relaxed and smoke-free. I couldn't stand the smell of smoke in my car or house anymore.  Eugenia makes you feel very relaxed and comfortable while in her care and she conducts herself in a very professional manner.  Hypnosis really assists with managing cravings, it's like a fleeting thought.  Nothing that I can't handle."

This is what Faysal Hasan MD. @ North Shore Medical Center said about hypnosis: “Hypnotherapy appears to be quite effective and a good modality to incorporate into a smoking cessation program after hospital discharge.”

Hypnosis & Smoking Cessation

Congratulations on your decision to join the ranks of the non-smokers!

So many of my clients are concerned with weight gain when they are ready to give up the smoking habit. FYI...I also incorporate weight management into my scripts for smoking cessation to ensure that my clients do not turn to food and begin overeating once they become non-smokers. The focus is on replacing addictive behaviors with new healthy life choices.

Reiki: A Brief Overview

Reiki is an ancient Tibetan method of natural healing that was rediscovered by a Japanese physician and widely taught as a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy”. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it’s high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki provides an avenue to remove blockages and imbalances, and to facilitate health and personal growth. It is used to re-align and balance the chakras.

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body (physical), emotions (emotional), mind (mental) and spirit (spiritual) creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. It is a pure energy form that supports our natural ability to heal on all levels. Many have reported miraculous results.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Reiki provides a source of restoring energy while one is ill, under treatment, or in recovery. Reiki energy has a mind of its own and goes where it is most needed.

An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an “attunement” given by a Reiki Master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of “life force energy” to improve one’s health and enhance the quality of life. The Reiki process does not deplete the practitioner of energy, as they are a conduit rather than the source of the energy. In the Reiki healing process, the energy fills the practitioner’s body first, and then flows out through the practitioner’s hands into the recipient. Its use is not dependent on one’s intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of all ages and backgrounds.

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it. While Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others. Dr. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki System of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.

"10 Signs It's Time to Quit"

Filed under: Job Advice, Work Life BalancePrint Article

by Kate Lorenz, Editor

"I like what I do. I just don't like where I work." Sound familiar? From unbearable co-workers to depressing work environments, there things that can make even the best job a living hell. Here are some signs it's time to look for a new job.

Sign No. 1: Your co-workers are annoying.

Obnoxious people can invade your work life. Let's face it, not everyone gets along perfectly. But you need to have some sort of harmonious relationship with fellow employees to get the job done. How are you supposed to get any work done when these guys keep getting in the way? They are distracting and impede productivity. Most offices have a Gossip, that one person who has the "scoop" all the time and is not afraid to share it. Misery loves company, and finds it often in the Whiner, who isn't afraid to complain and bellyache. And everyone has the Neighbor whose noisy distractions include his cellular ringtone, speakerphone and radio.

Sign No. 2: The environment is toxic.

Everyone experiences job highs and lows, but discontent could also be a sign of a chronically depressing work environment or even a company in peril. A bad work environment is reflective of the culture of an entire business. Do you work in a less-than-nurturing atmosphere? Is morale constantly low? Have you been complaining for two solid years? It could be an organizational problem that applying feng shui to your cube just won't fix.

Sign No. 3: You're mentally exhausted by the end of the day.

Stress can cause low morale, decreased productivity and apathy towards work. Plus, it can spill into your personal life and even have a negative effect on your health. Today there are fewer people who are taking on more and more work. American workers experience burnout at an alarming rate. According to CareerBuilder, 68 percent of workers feel burnout at work, and 45 percent said their workloads are too heavy. Yes, we all have to pick up some slack and "take one for the team" from time to time. But if there's no end in sight, do yourself and your health a favor and dust off your résumé.

Sign No. 4: Your boss is a nightmare.

Even though this person is your boss, it doesn't give him license to do anything he wants. If you have a lousy boss, even the best job in the world can make life a living hell. Your relationship with your supervisor plays a big role in your overall professional happiness and success. Fighting to have your boss removed or waiting for your boss to change or get fired are rarely successful tactics. If you are working for someone who is always absent, unavailable, self-absorbed or untrustworthy, it's time to look for a better supervisor and a better opportunity.

Sign No. 5: You're watching the clock... every 10 minutes.

Though you might not like to work, it's even worse when you are bored while you're there. One can only watch so many videos on YouTube or bid on unneeded things on eBay. If you aren't feeling challenged, that's a sign that you need additional responsibilities or a change roles. And be warned, if you don't have any responsibility or find yourself with nothing to do, management might be trying to phase you out and you might be in danger of losing your job.

Sign No. 6: You get no respect.

Does any of this sound familiar? Your ideas aren't taken seriously; there are no opportunities for advancement; the boss ignores you; co-workers alienate you; you're discouraged from improving skills with a course or seminar; you're passed over for a promotion -- again; or you're excluded from key projects and strategizing sessions. So why are you still giving this organization your time, energy and great ideas?

Sign No. 7: Your co-workers act like animals.

They live for themselves and only themselves. They irritate you. They offend you. They have no manners or ethics. And you work with them all. There's the Office Thief who steals your ideas. The Shirker arrives late, leaves early and disappears whenever work is near. The Buck-passer unloads her work onto everyone else and blames others for her mistakes. The Procrastinator delays things until the last possible minute, slowing you down by not having the information you need to meet your deadlines. The Interrupter stops by your cubicle 10 times a day to chat about her latest boyfriend despite your ringing telephone and pressing deadlines. And don't forget the infamous Elevator Person who rides up only one floor instead of taking the stairs.

Sign No. 8: Nobody communicates.

Although we live in a world of e-mail, cell phones, instant messages, Blackberries, WiFi and, yes, even face-to-face conversation, there can still be a complete lack of communication. Whether it's a co-worker who's not returning your voice mail or the CEO not conveying a company's goals and accomplishments, the breakdown of communication can be frustrating and detrimental to your job. It can cost you an account, make you to miss a deadline, cause you to lose a client, and even get you fired.

Sign No. 9: You're not valued.

Forty-three percent of workers do not feel appreciated, and one-fourth of workers feel that they are just a "number" within their organization. You need to realize that you deserve credit for your successes. Recognition is important, and good companies implement programs to let employees know they are valued. Is your company doing anything to reward your efforts? Do you ever receive bonuses, perks or positive feedback? If your boss has never heard of positive reinforcement verbal or otherwise, find a company that will value your talents.

Sign No. 10: You feel stifled.

What kind of quality of life do you have? Is your 40-hour week turning into a 24/7 grind? While salary may seem like the end all and be all, your quality of life determines your overall happiness. How much time you spend on the job, working conditions, supervisors and subordinates can positively and negatively impact your job outlook. If you dread the time you spent at work, it should be a clear indicator that it's time to break free. A job shouldn't stifle you creatively, mentally or physically.

Bottom line:

Considering what you don't like about your current situation should give you insight into what you are seeking in future endeavors. If you know what your priorities and preferences are and actively seek them, work can be an enjoyable experience. If, however, you've answered yes to more than four of these signs, then you might want to get started on a new job search.

I am my own Boss!

My Hypnosis mentor, Debbie Lane @, reminded me that it was National Boss Day yesterday.  It reminded me of this quote by Confucius: Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. And those are words I live by.

I am very passionate about the career I have chosen.  I have chosen to be of service to others.  My wish is that everyone unleashes their full potential.  When I am in session and one of my clients has an epiphany, a huge breakthrough, I feel blessed that I can be present to witness the event.

I remember being in jobs in the past where I was expected to raise up my client's quality of life while mine was being diminished.  I am so grateful that today I can dictate how to run my business.  If I choose to overbook, that is my choice.  If I choose to take a day off to attend a conference or to just goof off, that is my choice.

So I thank my Boss (me) very much for having the courage to go out on a limb with determination and perserverance to build a thriving private practice where I can be of assistance to others in helping them get unstuck and moving again while also living abundantly in every area of my life.

Are you taking your stress out on your teeth?

Is your jaw and face sore when you wake up in the morning? Are you experiencing earaches and headaches? Are you anxious, stressed out and overly concerned about your finances and the current economic situation?

Bruxism (teeth grinding) is a subconscious muscle activity caused by the release of flight or fight hormones. The released stress hormones mobilize energy which in turn cause muscle movement. Did you know that some nocturnal teeth grinders will grind their teeth up to 40 minutes of every hour of sleep?

What are you doing to relieve stress in your life? How are you promoting good sleep hygeine? Are you still watching the news before bedtime? Do you know how and what to do to relax? Or are you just taking it out on your teeth?

Rather than get fitted for a night guard, why not come in and have a hypnosis session that will induce a calm, peaceful, relaxed state? I will teach you relaxation techniques such as progressive muscle relaxation and review tips and guidelines for reducing and managing stress in your life. Stop taking it out on your teeth today!

How Hypnosis Impacts the Amygdala

The beauty of Hypnosis is that it bypasses our conscious mind.  Why is this important?  It is of importance because in our conscious state we have the ability to judge, rationalize, make excuses and listen to the incessant negative self-talk that is going on in our minds all day long.  A skilled Hypnotherapist will appeal to your subconcious mind which is acutely alert while in a relaxed state of hypnosis and eager to accept positive suggestions to facilitate and promote transformation.

Here is an excerpt from the article from Natural News that Steve E. Jones, M.Ed. wrote: "Warren explains how hypnosis affects the amygdala. When someone is in a hypnotic trance the amygdala normally shuts itself off. Both the body and the mind are in a deep state of relaxation. All emotions and fears are shut down. The patient is reminded that he or she is in control and not the hypnotherapist. In a state of hypnosis, a person's unconscious mind will know where to channel the healing power of hypnotic suggestions. This new research gives more insight into the mind-body connection between the brain and hypnosis."

What method for Smoking Cessation is right for you?

I recently saw a Chantix commercial and was astounded at how long it lasted. I was in the kitchen and not really paying attention to the T.V.  When I realized it was lasting so long because they had to list all the side effects of the drug, my mouth dropped. Here are just a few of the side effects listed: depression, behavior changes, agitation, hostility and suicidal thoughts.

Why would anyone want to subject themselves to all those nasty side effects when they could eliminate the smoking habit naturally and safely with the assistance of Hypnotherapy?

Are you ready to make an INVESTMENT in yourself?

Are you ready to make an INVESTMENT in yourself?  It befuddles me when I see individuals fussing about whether or not their insurance company is going to pay for them to quit smoking.  Is this just a smoke screen because they are just not yet ready to make the committment?

Most insurance companies consider smoking cessation to be preventative care and will reimburse their members 100%.  I will gladly provide you with a receipt for insurance claim submission.

The IRS is specific that over the counter nicotine therapy products are not deductible, but my services are.  The I.R.S. recognizes only one form of smoking cessation, Hypnosis!  In fact, it offers a tax credit for smokers who want to make the change. That means 100% of the money spent on smoking cessation with a hypnotherapist is deducted from your income!  You can write it off on your Federal income taxes as a “medical expense”.  Here’s the link to the IRS site:

Why not get a large clear jar out on the counter now and label it with what you are going to treat yourself to during the fourth month after you have successfully stopped smoking with the assistance of Hypnotherapy.  Imagine the jar filled with $10.00 bills.  Quick, get the calculator out and figure out how much money you will have saved!  Here in New York, cigarettes are nearly $10.00 per pack.  If you are a 1PPD smoker that amounts to YES...$900.00.  I bet you can find something nifty to treat yourself to, can't you???

Do you accept Insurance?

I do not accept insurance in my practice. In order for me to be able to provide comprehensive care to my clients, the treatment process cannot be limited by standardized care restrictions dictated by health insurance companies. I believe treatment is most effective when decisions relating to client care are customized and made exclusively by the patient and their treatment provider. I am in the business of providing the best care I can provide, in the shortest period of time. I expect my clients to be committed and motivated to change. They must be invested in the work as an active participant for the work to go as quickly as possible.

Depending on your specific health insurance plan, you may be entitled to reimbursement for a percentage of the treatment cost. Please contact your insurance administrator directly for information about your out of network benefits. I will provide you with a receipt for insurance claim submission.

There's something to be said about being in the right place at the right time. If you are operating in the flow and open to all possibilities serendipity is more likely to occur. "--- you don't reach Serendib by plotting a course for it. You have to set out in good faith for elsewhere and lose your bearings… serendipitously." John Barth, The Last Voyage of Somebody the Sailor.

Are we turning into a society that produces just enough to get by?

An interesting phenomenon occurred recently. I was spending an evening with friends when one of my friend's 13 year old nephew showed up and was asking us dating advice. Another friend teased him saying that he had to bulk up to attract a girl. His response was that he could do between 15-20 push-ups, right here, right now. "Prove it" we all replied in unison. The challenge was on! So he proceeded to drop and deliver. Immediately upon reaching 15, he abruptly stopped and jumped up. I was astonished and remarked how shocked I was that he stopped before exhaustion! I was sure he could have made it to 20 easily. Why not break your record and show us just how many you can do? He just shrugged. This really made an impression on me. Is this a generalization extending throughout our society? Is it global? Doing just enough to get by? I don't get it. And what are the implications down the road?

I remember vividly my brother John and I pushing and challenging each other to our limits; always attempting to prove who had a better memory for memorizing states, capitols, presidents, vice-presidents, who could hold their breath the longest under H2O, who could remember routines we made up, who could remember the codes we assigned to our knock-knock secret conversation we engaged in between our bedroom wall! We made up a game for everything always striving to push ourselves further. It was stimulation, a healthy competition and FUN.

It deeply concerns me when I see young people doing just enough to get by. If the Wright Brothers, Edison, Einstein and others operated like this, where would we be today? What if Rocky gave up???!!! Where are our inventions, innovations and improvements going to originate from? What is causing this attitude to become so pervasive and what can we do about it? I'm afraid it will lead to apathy, hopelessness and helplessness if we don't get a grip on it now.

The Solar Eclipse~A Time for New Beginnings

Yesterday I was giving a new client a mini intro to Reiki toward the end of our counseling session. I vividly saw an eclipse during the treatment. I forwarded the message to my client explaining that eclipses symbolize new beginnings...

It's OK to move forward. This is the time for new beginnings & to let go of the past. What do U want to release for the solar eclipse? What unwanted behaviors, habits, patterns, limiting attitudes & beliefs, individuals, objects, etc., etc. do you want to release from your life? Whatever is not serving you well, just let it go!

The following is from MSIA's ( challenge of the week: "A challenge for you this week is to sit down, take some time for yourself, and treat yourself nobly - because you are noble. Ask the Lord for perfect protection. Ask yourself if you were to come back to this existence again, what would be the thing that you have inside of you right now that you would not want to bring back. Then erase that thing out of your life." - John-Roger.

Please read the following spiritual explanation of the total solar eclipse by Rhonda Kuykendall-Jabari as well! July 22, 11:58 PM Rhonda Kuykendall-Jabari - LA Higher Consciousness Examiner Total Solar Eclipse Longest in 21st Century. "Today marks the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century. A total solar eclipse may most simply be described as the natural occurrence of light to darkness and back to light again as the moon passes between the Earth and the sun. It can only happen during a new moon. A szygy must occur --- which is the alignment of three or more celestial bodies along a straight line. Solar and lunar eclipses are one of nature's most impressive phenomenons. They mark changes in the physical and energetic or spiritual universe. The most viewed eclipse ever, the July 22nd solar eclipse was seen in some of the most densly populated countries in the world including western India, northern Bangladesh, easternmost Nepal, Bhutan and several large cities in China. 'This may be the most people that have ever been in the Moon's shadow at once,' say NASA eclipse experts Fred Espenak and University of Manitoba meteorologist Jay Anderson. Energy and light workers and other spiritualists are excited about the more esoteric implications of today's eclipse. Eclipses always mark new beginnings. Today's record breaking length will have lasting effects of up to three years! It is said that today's eclipse will open hearts, challenge egoism, and create a pathway for the elevation of all humankind. Mankind is expected to fast forward to our next level of consciousness as we shed superficial emotional attachments to make room for higher consciousness. It is everyone's time to activate their higher consciousness for the good of the universe. Let go of the past to make room for a new reality. Free yourself from the bondage of past hurts and lighten your heart. Forgive others and yourself. Love unconditionally. Remember the opposite of love is not hate, it is fear. Clear your living space. Is vanity really one of the deadly sins?

In my case it is definitely not! It is what got me to quit smoking 20 years ago. As soon as I found out smoking caused premature wrinkling and aging, that was enough for me. Besides, I no longer wanted to be a slave to a little white stick. I hated being controlled by cigarettes. I also hated the smell; on me, my clothes, home and car. Of course I knew the health risks of smoking, but that is not what got me to ultimately quit. It's funny, if our inner organs were displayed on the outside, I wonder how many people would continue to smoke? I was not going to subject my skin, which is visible to me and everyone else, to the harmful effects of smoking any longer. I already had a strike against me from sun worshipping! Hard to avoid the sun growing up on Long Island with all our wonderful beaches. It's a good thing our summer's are only two months long. However, I found quitting smoking was difficult to do on my own. It's a powerful addiction, both psychologically and physiologically. That's where Hypnosis played a key role in assisting me with getting rid of a habit I no longer wanted. I had a high expectation of the process of hypnosis, a great belief in myself to change, commitment and determination to succeed. The point I am trying to make is that your WHY for quitting has to be big enough. You must learn to hate your drug of choice and be willing to adopt healthier habits. Now ask me if I LOVE IT when I'm mistaken for being in my late 30's or early 40's and I'm actually 51!

A profound lesson in appreciation!

The following was taken from Bob Proctor's daily insights. Please check out for great daily insights. And on Fridays, Bob sends out a meaningful story.

How many times are we ready to give up and throw the towel in? We are still living in the "quick fix" mentality. We say we have faith but when it takes too long we're all too ready to give up. Please read the following story carefully, there is more than one lesson here. Enjoy!~Eugenia

The Lesson of the Morning Glory!

I planted seeds in my little garden this year.
I have never planted seeds before, because I am not a very patient person, and waiting for the little green shoots to rise above the ground, was just too much for me. But this year, I thought I would give it a try. I thought it would be a good metaphor for me, to plant something and watch it grow, much as I have many times, planted thoughts, dreams and affirmations and watched many of them become a reality.
And so, in the Spring of this year, I planted my garden. I chose many types of flowers and among them, Morning Glories. Within a month, many of the other flowers were bursting through the earth, but not the Morning Glories.
Each morning, I would run outside to check on them, and nothing, nothing for several weeks more. I was about to give up on them. I was sure that they just did not 'take' so to speak. But finally, it happened! They had broken through the earth, and were starting to climb. And climb, and climb, and climb, they did....with their big, beautiful, heart shaped leaves.
And so, the saga continued, nothing for weeks and weeks and weeks but more and more beautiful leaves. And I thought to myself, "Well, leaves are nice, but that is all I will probably get at this point." And then, one fine and glorious morning, there it was, the most beautiful sky-blue morning glory I have ever seen!!! It seemed like a miracle to me. I had waited over 3 months for this one delicate, funnel-shaped flower to show up and now here it was, in all its splendor.
It reminded me of just how many times I had waited in life for something I had longed for, and how incredible it felt when it finally arrived, and also, how many times, that I had wanted to throw in the towel, and just give up.
But I wasn't prepared for what was to happen next, with these little flowers, and I was surprised and deeply saddened by it.
Roses and geraniums and daisies and most other flowers bloom and stay around for a while, but not Morning Glories. Morning Glories open themselves up to the world, in the morning, in all of their glory, hence the name, Morning Glory.
And if you look closely at them, you will see how extraordinary they are, both in colour and texture, and that in their centre, is a kind of golden light that shines from within.
But here is the hard part...
At the end of the day, they turn a most beautiful shade of lavender, and then close up, wither and die. They live for only one day, and then they are gone. I cannot tell you how much this saddened me, and what a profound effect this little flower had upon my life. I kept thinking how sad to be so beautiful and live for only one day. And then, I suddenly realized what a gift they were.
You see, it doesn't matter how long your life is. It only matters that you were here, in all your glory, that you opened up completely, and let your light shine, and that you brought joy to those who came into contact with you. That's what matters to the morning glory, and that's what really matters to all of us.
The morning glories make me appreciate every new day now, in a way I didn't before. Each evening, I go and visit with them, knowing those particular ones won't be here tomorrow, new ones will take their place. If we knew when we woke up in the morning, that we only had that one day to really live, life would be very different indeed for many of us.
Now, each morning, I give thanks that I have been given the gift of another day, in all its glory. We can learn from all of life, if we remain open to the beauty that is all around us. And nature can be one of our greatest teachers.
What a profound lesson from such a simple flower.
Thank you, my sweet little morning glories!

Ah-ha! And then I saw the lightbulb go off over their heads...

Many clients tell me that they find cigarette smoking very relaxing. Hmmm...that's interesting I say since nicotine is a STIMULANT. Why do you suppose it's relaxing? And then I get a quizzical look. Maybe it's because you're taking a moment for yourself, giving yourself a chance to re-group during a stressful situation? Perhaps it's the act of BREATHING that you find relaxing I suggest. Taking deep breaths of oxygen into your lungs? How about trying it without the little white cancer stick going from your hand to your mouth? Do you realize that along with the oxygen you are also inhaling nicotine, cyanide, formaldehyde and several other harmful chemicals? And then I see the light bulb go off over their heads! We all have heard Dr. Oz on the Oprah show emphasizing the benefits of BREATHING...deep diaphragmatic breathing, where you push the air into your belly and not just having your chest and shoulders rise up and down. Dr. Oz suggests 20 such breaths a day. We've also heard it many times before as it applies to meditation and yoga. Concentrate on your breath. Seems to me they might be onto something here! So why not give it a try? It's FREE and you can do it anytime you feel stressed. P.S. It also works great for geting you off to sleep and back to sleep. My clients report a significant decrease in insomnia once they eliminated the smoking habit.

I would love to grant you 3 wishes!

I was born Eugenia Elaine Karahalias, but I have been called Jeanne since birth. But I am not a Jeanne (GENIE). I cannot fold my arms and blink and your wishes are then automatically granted. We are still living in a quick fix society. So many individuals are not willing to step out of their comfort zones and experience a little discomfort today to promote positive and lasting change in their lives. All too often clients arrive at my office for their smoking cessation hypnotherapy sessions unprepared. I have diligently outlined pre-session assignments that include tips and guidelines to follow to ensure a successful result. I will certainly do my part, but there has to be some effort on the client's part as well. It is a collaborative effort between the client and the therapist. And this is what I explain to my clients: Your motivation and commitment is the key to your success.
