How Hypnosis Impacts the Amygdala

The beauty of Hypnosis is that it bypasses our conscious mind.  Why is this important?  It is of importance because in our conscious state we have the ability to judge, rationalize, make excuses and listen to the incessant negative self-talk that is going on in our minds all day long.  A skilled Hypnotherapist will appeal to your subconcious mind which is acutely alert while in a relaxed state of hypnosis and eager to accept positive suggestions to facilitate and promote transformation.

Here is an excerpt from the article from Natural News that Steve E. Jones, M.Ed. wrote: "Warren explains how hypnosis affects the amygdala. When someone is in a hypnotic trance the amygdala normally shuts itself off. Both the body and the mind are in a deep state of relaxation. All emotions and fears are shut down. The patient is reminded that he or she is in control and not the hypnotherapist. In a state of hypnosis, a person's unconscious mind will know where to channel the healing power of hypnotic suggestions. This new research gives more insight into the mind-body connection between the brain and hypnosis."

What method for Smoking Cessation is right for you?

I recently saw a Chantix commercial and was astounded at how long it lasted. I was in the kitchen and not really paying attention to the T.V.  When I realized it was lasting so long because they had to list all the side effects of the drug, my mouth dropped. Here are just a few of the side effects listed: depression, behavior changes, agitation, hostility and suicidal thoughts.

Why would anyone want to subject themselves to all those nasty side effects when they could eliminate the smoking habit naturally and safely with the assistance of Hypnotherapy?

Are you ready to make an INVESTMENT in yourself?

Are you ready to make an INVESTMENT in yourself?  It befuddles me when I see individuals fussing about whether or not their insurance company is going to pay for them to quit smoking.  Is this just a smoke screen because they are just not yet ready to make the committment?

Most insurance companies consider smoking cessation to be preventative care and will reimburse their members 100%.  I will gladly provide you with a receipt for insurance claim submission.

The IRS is specific that over the counter nicotine therapy products are not deductible, but my services are.  The I.R.S. recognizes only one form of smoking cessation, Hypnosis!  In fact, it offers a tax credit for smokers who want to make the change. That means 100% of the money spent on smoking cessation with a hypnotherapist is deducted from your income!  You can write it off on your Federal income taxes as a “medical expense”.  Here’s the link to the IRS site:

Why not get a large clear jar out on the counter now and label it with what you are going to treat yourself to during the fourth month after you have successfully stopped smoking with the assistance of Hypnotherapy.  Imagine the jar filled with $10.00 bills.  Quick, get the calculator out and figure out how much money you will have saved!  Here in New York, cigarettes are nearly $10.00 per pack.  If you are a 1PPD smoker that amounts to YES...$900.00.  I bet you can find something nifty to treat yourself to, can't you???

Do you accept Insurance?

I do not accept insurance in my practice. In order for me to be able to provide comprehensive care to my clients, the treatment process cannot be limited by standardized care restrictions dictated by health insurance companies. I believe treatment is most effective when decisions relating to client care are customized and made exclusively by the patient and their treatment provider. I am in the business of providing the best care I can provide, in the shortest period of time. I expect my clients to be committed and motivated to change. They must be invested in the work as an active participant for the work to go as quickly as possible.

Depending on your specific health insurance plan, you may be entitled to reimbursement for a percentage of the treatment cost. Please contact your insurance administrator directly for information about your out of network benefits. I will provide you with a receipt for insurance claim submission.

There's something to be said about being in the right place at the right time. If you are operating in the flow and open to all possibilities serendipity is more likely to occur. "--- you don't reach Serendib by plotting a course for it. You have to set out in good faith for elsewhere and lose your bearings… serendipitously." John Barth, The Last Voyage of Somebody the Sailor.
